Dark-eyed Junco

IMG_0920b

J and I headed to Banff last Sunday to amble along the mellow Spray River trail. We started early, an hour before the sun started to warm the trail. The white outer tail feathers of the juncos that flew across the path were little sparks of brightness in the grey morning light. I think the birdy I photographed is a female juvenile. Her adult plumage looks almost complete.

    1. Thanks Deborah :-). She graced me with 30 seconds of stillness so I managed a couple focused shots.

    1. :-D. Occasionally I feel charming. But usually, I feel like a big footed stalker.
