Wacky Photoshop edit of a Bushtit preening. On Woodland Drive north of First Ave.
It was pretty exciting, snapping shot after shot of this wee supermodel. I don’t have a bushtit appropriate zoom lens so I didn’t capture any details. Instead I super-tweaked the photographs’ colors.
My camera is pretty small so I use all those tiny stabilizer muscles in my upper body to keep it steady. It can be a bit of a workout! If I ever get a bigger camera, I’ll need to use a uni-pod. I was surprised the little fellow stayed on an exposed branch for at least a minute.
Thanks :-). I’m still quite amused by Photoshop’s ability to create so many colour-scapes from the same digital information. I push a slider and “ta-da” new colours. Some objects stand out and others retreat.
Absolutely adorable! You must have a steady hand to get these shots of such a little guy 🙂

Sometimes I get the sense a bird wants us to get the shot…maybe I spend too much time alone, thinking fanciful things like that!

That sounds plausible. I’m sure the bird knew I was there. Maybe it wanted to show me its cleaning moves :-).
